Well, folks, the goaltending picture got a little clearer — and a little busier — on Wednesday. NHL.com's status report lists John Gibson, with a lower-body injury, as questionable for Thursday's home game against Vegas at 7 p.m. ET.
Coach Todd McLellan had no update after Tuesday's game at Tampa Bay, where Gibson left after the first period and did not return, and said Daniil Tarasov is in line for more playing time.
Detroit isn't waiting around on that front, either. The Grand Rapids Griffins announced Wednesday that the Red Wings have recalled goaltender Michal Postava under emergency conditions. Postava, 24, was just named the AHL's Goaltender of the Month for October, going 4-0 with a 1.25 goals-against average and a .954 save percentage, and he's 5-0 with a 1.20 average and .955 save percentage in the AHL this season. He made his NHL debut October 22 at Vancouver in relief, then earned his first NHL start and win October 26 at Edmonton, 4-3 in a shootout.
